Pastor's Perspective On this Fourth Sunday of Lent we share the wonderful story of the man born blind as found in the Gospel of John.
In
a way, the blind man’s story is the story of every Christian: we
cling to faith in the midst of many challenges and adversities.
Our work during Lend is to open ourselves to Jesus who calls us to a
deeper faith.
The restoration of the blind man’s physical sight
culminates in the spiritual insight that Jesus is the “Son of Man”
worthy of worship: he is unrecognized by friends, challenged by
authorities, unsupported by his parents, expelled from the
synagogue. Yet with each obstacle his vision of faith is
sharpened and his resolve is strengthened.
As we make
our way along our Lenten journey we too grope for faith in the midst of
difficulties and brokenness; and Jesus comes to find us.
Peace, and Happy Lent, Fr. Chuck
