![]() ![]() August 5, 2007 From the Desk of Drew Desmarais . . .There isn’t one of us in our professional lives that escape the reality of updating our skills in the workplace. Most of us as Catholics received Confirmation in junior high school and that was the last exposure to Catholic faith formation that we had. In the St. Rita Parish bulletin, you will notice that on a monthly basis I construct a Customs and Rituals section that selects things that give us our Catholic identity and those items are explained in detail. Also, once a month there is an article explaining the doctrines of our faith. In the past five years we explored the sacraments, social justice, moral tradition, gospels and liturgy. Next year we will take a walk through Catholic history. Al Pecora and Sam Latore are presently doing a scripture study on two Wednesday evenings a month. Stay tuned to the bulletin for details on this wonderful opportunity to learn more about scripture and to be able to answer the questions of your inquiring neighbors. I put together on a monthly basis an adult formation newsletter that summarizes articles written in contemporary Catholic publications such as Origins, America, and St. Anthony Messenger. If you would like this newsletter e-mailed to you, e-mail me at ddesmarais@dor.org. I encourage everyone to grow and develop in your adult faith so that you can critically examine the pluralistic approach to truth in our contemporary culture.
