Pastor's Perspective
In the first book of the Bible – in its very first chapters
– we find the story of creation. On the seventh day,
“The Sabbath”, God rested from all He had made and saw that
it was very good. I like to imagine the Father, Son and Holy
Spirit resting in rocking chairs on the front porch of Heaven looking
out over all creation and just enjoying it all!
In the book of Sirach (39:14-16,33,35) we read:
Bless the Lord for all He has done!
Proclaim the greatness of his name,
Loudly sing his praises.
Sing out with joy as you proclaim:
The works of God are all of them good.
Every need when it comes he fills.
So now with full joy of heart proclaim
And bless the name of the Holy One.
As we savor these Summer days let the things of earth refresh us and
increase our awareness of the beauty of all creation around us.
May we pray . . .
For the pleasant touch of grass and sand,
the warmth of the sun, the feel of wind and water . . .
We Thank You Lord
For the beautiful sight of sunshine and flowers,
grass and trees, butterflies and gliding birds. . .
We Thank You Lord
For the delightful sounds of calling birds,
rushing water and crackling campfires . . .
We Thank You Lord
For the enjoyable scents of fresh air,
roasting hotdogs and steaming coffee . . .
We Thank You Lord
God looked out over all He had made and He found it very good. This summer may we rejoice in all His gifts.
Peace and Happy Summer,
Fr. Chuck
