 April 22, 2007 Pastor's PerspectiveThird Week of EasterPeter on one occasion preached to a large crowd about Christ, and told them about his death and resurrection. So convinced were his listeners on that occasion that 3,000 people were baptized on that day, and joined the first Christian communities. What had persuaded those 3,000? It is no mean number. No doubt it was because they had open minds and hearts, so that the Holy Spirit could be at work within them. Their culture had not stifled their religious instinct. That indeed is the problem with ours.
