Pastor's Perspective

Happy Labor Day Weekend!

I hope we are all able to savor these last days of Summer and ease back into the busier routines of school, meetings, etc. May we carry with us some of the Summer lessons about pacing ourselves and leaving some space in our lives "to smell the roses".

As we look to the year ahead you might want to consider this little reflection shared with me by a friend:

Things God won't ask on the Day of Judgment

GOD won't ask you what kind of car you drove. God will ask how many people you drove who didn't have transportation.

GOD won't ask the square footage of your house.  God will ask how many people you have welcomed into your home.

GOD won't ask about the clothes you had in your closet.  God will ask how many you helped to clothe.

GOD won't ask what your highest salary was.  God will ask if you compromised your character to obtain it.

GOD won't ask what your job title was.  God will ask if you performed your job to the best of your ability.

GOD won't ask how many friends you had.  God will ask how many people to whom you were a friend.

GOD won't ask in which neighborhood you lived. God will ask how you treated your neighbors.

GOD won't ask about the color of your skin.  God will ask about the content of your character.

Peace,
Fr. Chuck
