Liturgy Notes for
Feb/Mar
General
- Thank You to all who helped out over Christmas. Now on to Easter!
- Ash Wednesday is February 17. Sign-ups for the Masses will go up
the weekend before. This is also February break week so we will need
help at all Masses since there is no school Mass that day.
- Holy Week/Easter will be on the April/May schedule. Let me know
by next time if you are unavailable for Easter weekend. Also, let me
know if you can help with Holy Week, especially the Vigil.
- We need someone at each Mass on Palm Sunday weekend to help
organize the procession before Mass. If you can help, please let me
know. (671-0388)
- Scheduled ministers for Palm Sunday should arrive early and help
pass out palms.
- Will you be attending the Chrism Mass on the Tuesday of Holy Week
at the cathedral? Could you take/pick up the oils for the parish? How
about the Easter Vigil here at St. Rita’s? Let me know since we may
need help.
Lectors
- Did you get your Lector Workbook? If not, let me know and I will
see that you get a copy.
Also, take the time to read the introduction in the workbook. It
provides very good background information.
- March 7, 14, 21 we will use the Cycle A readings. They are in the
workbook along with the Cycle C readings.
- Reminder: When the deacon is present, the Book of the Gospels is
carried in procession. It is the only book carried in and No book is carried out.
Lectors
and Leaders
Palm Sunday is March
28 Passion reading:
-
Lector #1 does BOTH first and second readings
- Lector #2 and the Leader will
do the Passion along with the Presider. Copies of the Passion will be
in church in mid-March. I’ll notify you when they are available.
Communion
Ministers
We are continuing with the abbreviated
schedule for the next two months. The situation will be
re-evaluated before Easter.
Because we eliminated stations 2/3, nobody has been assigned to
purify. I’ve been pleased to see people stepping up to take
responsibility for doing this. Please continue to step in when you are
present.
Remember that schedules and
notes are posted on the parish website. Go to (http://www.saintrita.org)
under “Ministries”, then “Liturgical Ministries”.
NOTE: When you get to the
schedules, use the far right scroll bar to
find the other schedules. Otherwise you’ll only see the Leader schedule.
