Notes for Apr/May
The next schedule will be
for June-August. Please send me your summer availability by mid-May.
Welcome Ron Bronakoski as
a new lector/communion minister.
Palm Sunday is April 5
and Easter is April 12.
If something has come up for those weekends hopefully this will give
you enough time to recruit a sub. I did my best to honor everyone’s
requests.
Read on for special
instructions………..
General Reminders for Holy Week
- We
need someone at each Mass on Palm Sunday weekend to help organize the
procession before Mass. If you can help, please let me know. (671-0388)
- Extra
Communion Ministers have been scheduled for both Palm Sunday (church)
and Easter Sunday (for gym) which is why the count may appear off.
- Scheduled ministers for Palm Sunday should arrive early and
help pass out palms.
- If you are available on Palm Sunday/Easter and not already
scheduled, PLEASE
check in with the leader. I bet they will be able to use your help.
- Please
get a sub if you can’t make your assignment on Palm Sunday or Easter
(or anytime for that matter!) If you can’t find someone, call
the
office or the leader so someone knows ahead of time that you need a
replacement.
- Will you be attending the Chrism Mass on the
Tuesday of Holy Week at the cathedral? Could you take/pick up the oils
for the parish? How about the Easter
Vigil here at St. Rita’s? Let me know since we may need
help.

Lectors
- Palm Sunday Passion reading:
- Lector #1 does BOTH first and second readings
- Lector
#2 and the Leader will do the Passion along with the Presider. Copies
of the Passion should be attached to your schedule (or in church if you
get your schedule emailed).
- Easter Sunday: we will not do the Sequence
Leaders
- Palm
Sunday: Plan to arrive early! A contact person will be
assigned
to your Mass to help w/recruiting people for the procession. That
leaves you free to cover the ministries and read over your materials.
- Easter/
Palm Sunday: Take a minute before you start your announcements to ask
people to move in and make room at the end of the pews.
Remember
that schedules and notes are posted on the parish website. Go
to (http://www.saintrita.org)
under “Ministries”, then “Liturgical Ministries”.
NOTE: When
you get to the schedules, use the far right scroll bar to
find the other schedules. Otherwise you’ll only see the Leader schedule.
