Vacation Bible School
July 19-23, 2010 (9:00 am - Noon) Ages: 4 years old (by July 19, 2010) to entering Grade 6 (2010-2011 school year)

The theme this year focuses on the Fruits of the Spirit and the
Letters to the Apostles. All of our activities, from lessons,
crafts, and music, to games and snack will help students come to a
better understanding of the role of the Holy Spirit and church leaders
in our lives. On Friday, family members are invited to a closing
celebration to share what they have learned.
This year, we are going to try something new with the oldest and
youngest students. We'll be pairing every Pre-K student with a
6th grader. This will give our youngest students more individual
attention while allowing the oldest students to have a sense of
responsibility. If you know an older or younger student who is
also signing up that you would like your child to be paired with,
please enter their name on the registration form. St. Rita's VBS
is an all-volunteer experience. Your help is necessary for its
continued success. All volunteers must have taken the CREATING A SAFE
ENVIRONMENT course. This training is available at Youth Ministry
Leadership Day on Sunday, May 16 at Holy Trinity. We will also provide
other opportunities to complete this course for new volunteers. TEEN and ADULT volunteers welcome!
Please note that we have changed the age levels for students from
previous years – if you are entering 6th grade, please sign up as a
student.
A new Diocesan policy requires that there be an adult in every
classroom, so if you are a parent, please consider being a part of this
year's VBS! No teaching experience is required – materials and activity
guides will be provided. There will be a mandatory volunteer meeting
where you will receive the materials you need for your assigned
position.
